How was your day?!

Have you ever had one of those days where you really do not feel like doing much of anything?  Well, for me, today is that day.  My wife and I have been trying out some new fitness classes at the center we go to, and I must say.. YIKES.. I am more out of shape than I originally thought I was.  Anywhooo.. my body is sore form head to toe.  Now, granted, I do love that feeling because it reminds me that I really did work hard, BUT ..  it makes me want to just sit around and do nothing except complain about how sore I am.  So, here I am complaining about how sore I am!  OK.  Enough about my aches and pains.

I have really been focusing this week on keeping track of my meals.  I have been using the Change4Life Workbook I created, and have been documenting what I am eating, how much, and what time of the day.  I have also been making sure I document how I feel throughout the day.  In my opinion, this information is probably the most important part of my daily log.  For one thing, it allows me to get a more accurate picture of how those meals are working for me.  For instance; if I feel tired and groggy after a meal, I know that I must have had something high in processed sugar.  Those types of  carbs are designed to give us that immediate “rush of energy“, but then it makes us crash right after that rush.  So, being able to document that information gives me insight into what changes I need to make the next day.  The more information I have about how that day went for me, the more opportunities I have to make needed changes and be able to keep progressing towards my goals.

Health is a lifestyle.  It is all about knowing our bodies and knowing what works and doesn’t work.  Winging it, just doesn’t seem to work out very well.  Believe me, I have gone that route, and I bet you have as well.  It only takes a few minutes to put your thoughts on paper.  The more you do it, the easier it gets, and the quicker you will know what changes you need to make and why.  I am convinced, that quicker we put these things into practice, the greater our success will be!
