Get those thoughts flowing!

There is a quote on the wall of the fitness center I belong to, that simply says; “Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow” Henry David Thoreau.  As I read this, my thoughts began to flow.  The first thing I thought of was my work.   I basically sit at a computer all day talking to people.  I will, at times, stand up and walk around as I am talking.  I have to say, the quote above, definitely rings true for me when I do that.  Getting up and moving around, increases my ability to think and listen and make decisions.  It is truly amazing that something as simple as moving my legs, can accomplish something so major.  Let’s take a moment and look at this from a “body function”  point of view.  When we are up and moving, we are forcing our hearts to pump more blood.  The blood, in turn, is used to carry oxygen through our bodies, and into our brain.  The oxygen, can then stimulate brain function.  Imagine that!!  It honestly amazes me how our bodies are designed to do so much more than we can even fathom.  I cannot stress enough, just how important it is for us to move our bodies.  It does not have to be a whole lot to begin with.  Our bodies will adapt to the movement and we will be able to move even more as we get stronger, but all we have to do is start moving!  There are nothing but incredible benefits to our bodies when we just get up and go!  I know you can do it!  All you have to do now, is believe in yourself and go do it!
