You never know what surprises life has in store for you. Just a few day’s ago, our daughter gave birth to her second child. It’s a BOY! We now have two grandsons, and they were both born on the same day, just 2 years, 4 hours and 3 minutes apart. We all joked about the possibility of them having the same birthday, but didn’t really think it would happen. Well, I guess that just goes to show, we really have no idea how things will unfold in life. What we think will or should happen, are only thoughts of hope’s and wishes. Life has it’s own plan for us. We don’t plan on getting Diabetes, or having heart disease. But the fact of the matter is, those possibilities are real. Can we control whether or not we become victims of these types of illness’s? Well, no, but we can control what steps we take to hopefully keep these things out of our lives. We can control how we eat; we can control how much we exercise; we can control the way we live our lives. There are so many factors for us to take into consideration when it comes to living healthy. We talk about nutrition and exercise as the key factors, but what about our emotional health? I have found that when I am emotionally balanced, I want to live healthier. When I allow the joyful things in my life, like my grandson’s, to be what consumes me, then I have a much more positive outlook on life. You may have a hard time believing this concept, but study after study has proven that, when we are joyful and positive and confident in how we live, then disease seems to have a harder time finding us. There is never a guarantee that we will be completely immune to disease, but by living our lives as healthy as we possibly can, we will certainly increase our chances of living a long, healthy life, enjoying the moments that matter the most.
